Lookalogy visits the flea market at Haji Lane

Yesterday we visited Haji Lane for their flea market and it was a rather hot affair, instead of the windy or even rainy weather that we were expecting.

We didn't actually do much there since we didn't see anything we wanted to buy. However we did visit our favorite shops Carbon 4 and Sup, and also paid a visit to Soon Lee since we had never been there before.

A nice surprise while visiting Carbon 4 was that we met the cool Killer Gerbil, a visual artist and a very nice guy. He was the guy who also did the graffiti design around and inside the Carbon 4 shop so if you're there next time check it out.

We also saw a really cute dog outside Carbon 4, pictures below, and he is one of Max's 5 cute dogs! (PS: Max is one of the C4 owners)

Please check out the very few photos we took of our trip below.

Got a new pair of shoes!

As the title says, I just copped this pair of new shoes from Limited Edt Vault a few days back. It's the new collection by Adidas Originals x Ransom, and it consists of classic looks and made with high-quality premium materials.

I got the black Pier model and I'm really liking it because it's quite comfortable.

It has a black nubuck exterior and white leather insides. The laces come in 3 colorways (white/black/orange) and I swapped out the white laces for the black ones, which surprisingly were made from leather.

The stitching is tight and there are lots of little details, such as the trefoil on the back tab and the words "Go forth on the neverending path" on the inside tongue.

I ilke the simple and clean look as well. Considering the quality of the materials, I think it's great value for money!

A bit of history behind Evisu's name

Eaw09hmje01ecu-back_large

I was just reading around on jeans and happened to chance upon the origins of Evisu's name and logo so I pieced them together:

The original name of Evisu was Evis and it was created by the founder because Levis stopped making the vintage selvedge jeans. The Japanese love parody names so Evis is actually Levi's without the L, and the Japanese tend to pronounce it as Evisu so the name stuck.

The classic Evisu seagull logo came about because the original stitched Evisu arch logo was too similar to Levi's so they painted over it. Over time this evolved into the seagull that we recognise nowadays. However if you check the Evisu website, they'll give you a different origin story so it's up to you which one to believe.

Sup Clothing Women's Collection launch party, 6th Nov 09

P1010119

Last night we just dropped in to the Sup Clothing launch party of their Women's Collection to check things out and show our support. As you can see from the photo, it was a pretty happening event with a live DJ spinning some mixes and lots of drinks being passed around.

On the whole the women's collection has some roots in the men's collection but it is distinct enough in its own street style. Besides that, we also met some pretty cool peeps, like from Royalefam, Sole Obsession and many others as well. Awesome party and we wish Sup Clothing more successes to come!
